Silver Bow Kiwanis Kiwanis Club Meeting, Jul 19, '11
12:00-1:00 Tuesday, July 19, 2011Today we had a guest, Betty Elliot, who got a hold of us through our web site. Betty is a Life Coach and is starting her new practice here in Butte.
Attendance was a little low this week, but Gene did make it to rescue Keith from completely stumbling through the meeting part of the meeting...
Jackie then introduced Ted Dawson. Ted relocated to Bozeman in January to take over as the Sports anchor for KXLF/KBZK. Ted went to the University of Utah to study medicine and play football, and came out a sportscaster, which wasn't what his father wanted... Ted has been a sportscaster for over 40 years, one of his earliest pieces was covering the post-game at Superbowl I in 1967! (The first Superbowl was broadcast by both NBC and CBS.)
Ted talked about a number of his life experiences, including being a 40 year veteran fly-fisherman, who has fished on all 7 continents, but has never caught a fish...
Ted reminded us all that the center is the most important player on a football field, though you don't always remember the center - but nothing happens until the center hikes the ball... But it's not just hiking the ball, but dong it right. Having the right play ready and completing the process with follow through.
