Silver Bow Kiwanis Kiwanis Club Meeting, Jul 6, '10
12:00-1:00 Tuesday, July 6, 2010We had 28 people in attendance, two of whom were guests.
The menu was changed ( we were scheduled for bacon and eggs) because of another conference gong on, and the available cook staff...
Lloyd reminded us of the Rodeo coming up in a couple weeks. We need people to help out out there!
Dave told us about his trip down to international, and stopping by Carlsbad Caverns in New Mexico, but the main part of his presentation was on the new major project for Kiwanis International. We are raising funds to help UNICEF to inoculate women and children in impoverished nations against tetanus to address the problem of Maternal and Neonatal Tetanus (MNT). This can be addressed through a series of injections.
MNT is a condition that is significant in 40 nations, and addressing this issue could save many lives each year. It is estimated that one child dies every 9 minutes from MNT.
