This week we again had Matt and Michaela here from the Circle K. Michaela reminded us again about their Holiday Care raffle and had tickets to sell. Tickets are $1 each or $5 for a book of 6. The drawing will be held at the Circle K meeting on December 13, and Kiwanians are invited. In addition to the drawing, they have a pot luck dinner and a white elephant gift exchange. More details to come.

We didn't have a scheduled program, but Clair took some time to tell us about the Salvation Army. The Butte Salvation Army received a donation of $600,000, which is in the trust of the district Salvation Army offices and is being used to manage local services. The Salvation Army holds each location to a budget, and is able to do the most and continue to help those in need by managing the budget. The entire amount is being distributed back into the community over time to insure that the Salvation Army can do the most good locally. The current office in Butte is a "Service Extension Office," which means that they have limited capabilities. However, they still run the dress a kid program and do have items and services available to help those in need. Nationally, the Salvation Army has been very frugal and cash conservative, and this has allowed them to survive and to be able to help those with sudden needs when disaster strikes.

In addition, Roger presented us with our club bell, which has been missing (well, in various stages of unknown or untracked storage) since about 1979... Roger finally go a hold of it again, polished it, and we were able to use it at today's meeting!

We also have the Santa Pictures coming up on Saturday during the Christmas Stroll - if you can help out, even for a little while, please let Lee know.
