Lloyd gave a recap on the rodeo this past weekend, there were about 400 people in attendance each night, and don't forget the Bull-A-Rama coming up August 8.

Doreena is coordinating the Silver Bow Kiwanis team for the Butte, Montana Relay for Life to support the American Cancer Society. The relay is coming up August 6-7. Contact Doreena for more information.

Betsy asked Silver Bow Kiwanis Club to sponsor the local little league state champion all-stars team to go to California and represent Montana in the little league playoffs. $200 was approved by the attending members.

Shawn is leaving State Farm and opening an independent insurance agency.

Then Steve introduced Roger Ebner, the county D.E.S. officer. Roger was born in Minnesota and then lived in Wisconsin for several years before coming to Montana.

Part of what Roger is working on is the transition from Disaster and Emergency Services (D.E.S.) to Emergency Management (E.M.).

Fewer than 50% of Americans have a disaster or emergency preparedness plan. This is a major concern because individual and family preparedness will allow emergency services to respond to those really in need most efficiently in the case of an emergency.

There are three major categories of emergency: no notice, short notice, and long notice. When you get notice, heed that notice and that will also help mitigate damages, loss and injury.
