Silver Bow Kiwanis Kiwanis Club Meeting, Aug 27, '13
12:00-1:00 Tuesday, August 27, 2013Today we were joined by Matt, Laura, Paul and Gummi Bear (Michaela) from the Circle K. Tech is back in session, and the Circle K expects to start meeting the week after next.
Today Roger brought us the sad news about Steve's condition. The doctors believe that Steve's cancer is inoperable. They want to start him on chemotherapy and possibly follow that with radiation if the chemo is successful. That may get him to a point where the cancer will be operable. They are looking for a second opinion. There is also a possibility that Steve could be chosen for a trial of an experimental treatment, but it is a double blind trial where he would only have a 50% probability of receiving the treatment, and would also have to relocate for at least six months.
You can keep up with Steve through the Caring Bridge. Merle is also on the Caring Bridge for those who want to keep in touch with him.
On a happier note, Gerta sent us a card thanking us for inviting her and other members of the Dillon Kiwanis to our Family Picnic last week. It looks like we had about 45 people in attendance, including two prospective new members.
November is K-Family month, so we should consider what we want to do to acknowledge our Kiwanis Family organizations in November.
Sunday, September 22 is the Southwest Montana Federal Credit Union customer appreciation picnic at Clark Park. They have asked us to cook for their event again.
Also, our installation dinner is coming up October 4 at the Rodeo Grounds, so get ready!
