This week we were joined by Matt from the Circle K.

Keith reminded us of the board meeting coming up next week - 5:45pm on August 7 at Metals. All current board members should attend, and any incoming board members who can make it should come to see how the meetings work.

Also, we have the Vigilante Rodeo coming up August 8 and 9 (that's a Friday and Saturday). They have asked us to help with parking cars. We are needed from about 5:45 to about 8:30 each evening. If you can get away from An Ri Ra for a couple hours, please come help.

Also our Kiwanis Family Picnic is coming up August 12 at Clark Park. Please let us know what dish you are bringing and how many plan to attend.

Then Mark introduced Dave Lau, the new Athletic Director for Montana Tech. Dave has been interested in athletics and sports as long as he can remember. He played for a New York Mets feeder team for three years before returning to school to complete his Masters degree in Athletic Administration. He's taught PE, coached, and been an Assistant Athletic Director at various institutions from elementary schools to state universities for over 15 years before coming to Montana Tech.

The current goal of the Athletic Department at Montana Tech is graduating champions. They want to improve teams and programs and recruit quality athletes that can bring championships to Montana Tech while continuing to maintain the academic standards they have in place to insure that their athletes are also succeeding off the field.

They also want to encourage support of the athletic department and athletes in the community. One effort toward this end is the Building Champions shirts that will be given away at the August 30 football game.

Before that, however, on August 5 season tickets will be available. If you already purchased season tickets, you can pick them up at the Metals Bank. If you haven't purchased them in advance, you can buy them at Metals as well on August 5.

Following that, on August 12, the Universal Digger Fall Kickoff event will be at Universal Athletics. Various Digger gear will be on sale, and part of the proceeds will go to Digger Athletics.

Dave has posters available, as well as Digger Athletics Association registrations for individuals or corporations. Find out more information on August 5 at Metals or contact the Digger Athletics Department at Montana Tech.
