Silver Bow Kiwanis Kiwanis Club Meeting, Dec 2, '14
12:00-1:00 Tuesday, December 2, 2014Today we were joined by Matt and Reno from the Circle K. Matt let us know that they have raised $700 so far for the Holiday Care Raffle, and are still waiting on confirmation of a donation from the Town Pump Charitable Organization. They are on track to help 12 families with gifts for 26 kids. RuthAnne let us know that the Anaconda Kiwanis Club has donated 22 bicycles for those kids that asked for a bike. Thanks to Al and the wonderful members of the Anaconda Kiwanis Club.
Keith reminded us of the Thompson's Food Drive this Saturday. The Butte Emergency Food Bank needs volunteers to help with food sorting from around 11:30 to around 4. If you can help, please come to the food bank on second, even if for a couple hours.
The board is scheduled to meet on Thursday, but several members will not be available. Since there is a quorum present, Cathy asks that board members stay after the meeting for a few minutes to take care of a couple quick business items.
This week Circle K meets tonight at 5:15 in the Pintler room in the SUB. Builder's Club meets in Ms. Tutty's room at Butte Central Middle School at 12:30 on Wednesday. Key Club meets Thursday at 11:56 in the Butte Central High library.
In honor of Giving Tuesday, Cathy presented Betsy with a $50 donation for the Key Leader program.
Keith and RuthAnne reminded us of the Circle K holiday party next Tuesday, December 9 at 6pm in the Pintler Room in the SUB on campus. There will be a pot luck dinner, a white elephant gift exchange, and then the drawing for prizes for their raffle. There are about 50 prizes and prize packages they will be drawing for. If you plan to attend, please let Matt know, and remember to bring something for the pot luck and a wrapped gift that cost under $10 for the gift exchange.
Keith reported that there are post cards going out in the next couple days thanking all those who purchased a ticket (or several) in our Holiday Raffle. Kristi reported that there were 145 tickets sold, she has deposited payment for 141 of those so far, and had another turned in. There are three payments we are yet waiting on.
The major projects committee is drafting a letter of introduction and a donation request form to send to businesses and individuals in the area to raise additional funds for the playground projects. Doug has collected information needed by the manufacturer of the playground equipment on the Greeley School property so they can evaluate what is needed to repair that equipment and get it up to code.
