Today we were joined by Reno and David from the Circle K.

Cathy let us know about the empty bowl fundraiser for the Butte Emergency Food Bank backpack program at the Civic Center. The backpack program provides a backpack of food for the weekend for children who may otherwise not have meals until they get back to school on Monday. An empty bowl is $20, and then you get soup to fill it!

Keith updated us on the K-family meetings this week. Circle K is meeting tonight at 5:30 in the Pintler room. Builder's Club meets tomorrow at 12:30 in Ms. Tutty's room. Key Club meets at 11:56 on Thursday and is currently at their District Convention. After they attneded our meeting two weeks ago, the Builder's Club members reported back to their club. They reported that Kiwanis meetings are a bunch of corny jokes and we laugh too much, the police dog was cool and energetic, and that Perkin's cheeseburgers are better than Central School's corndogs. Reno and RuthAnne let us know that the Circle K Installation Dinner is next Tuesday at 7 at Metals. Please RSVP with RuthAnne if you didn't sign up on the sheet that went around today.

Dace Curry updated us on the EliMiNaTe project. Internationally we are at $77 million of a goal of $110 Million. As district conventions are coming up this summer, districts are being approached to pledge. The Western Canada District has donated the most per capita so far, with the Japan District coming in second.

Our Kiwanis Division (Division 3, Montana District) is having a Kiwanis 100 Year Celebration gala and roast on April 12, 2015 at 5;00pm. State Legislator and former Senatorial candidate Amanda Curtis will be our guest of honor and will be the recipient (victim?) of a comic roast that night. Tickets will be available later today and will cost $19.00. This is NOT a fundraising event, it is a social event. Dress for the event is business casual - no jeans, nice shirts, bow ties for the Circle K attendees...

This evening celebration follows our Kiwanis One Day event on April 11 - we'll be meeting at Perkins at 9am to divide into teams to go to the 21 parks in Butte-Silver Bow and clean up the playgrounds. Bring gloves and garbage bags, and maybe rakes, light shovels, and pooper-scoopers...
