Silver Bow Kiwanis Kiwanis Club Meeting, Sep 28, '10
12:00-1:00 Tuesday, September 28, 2010Today Roger told us about the caring bridge web site, where people who are or who have been hospitalized can post information about their status and progress on-line so friends and family can stay informed, and then read Steve's latest comments about the status of his chemo.
Then Tina Green from the World Museum of Mining was unable to make it today, but the wonderful Delores Cooney was here with the presentation on the Museum and its collections. Dolores showed us many pictures that are in the Museum's collections and brought some artifacts including a ticker tape machine from the fire hall where the Butte Archives now reside.
The World Museum of Mining and the Butte Archives work together since the Archives has the facilities to properly store and protect the various pieces of ephemera and memorabilia.
The Museum has over 100,000 items in its collection, from buildings to punch-cards, related to mining or Butte history.
