Silver Bow Kiwanis Kiwanis Club Meeting, Oct 5, '10
12:00-1:00 Tuesday, October 5, 2010Doreena thanked everyone for coming to the dinner this past Friday, then got us started on her first meeting as president.
We had five members from the Montana Tech Circle K at our meeting to meet up with their Kiwanis sponsors, so Shawn, Paul, Gene, and Ken were able to meet their sponsorees.
Tim introduced Coach Green, who, as Tim said, "really needs no introduction to anyone who's been in Butte in the past three months" because, again as Tim put it, "Coach Green has been head football coach at Montana Tech for roughly a gazillion years."
Coach Green confirmed that he has been head football coach at Tech for 24 years, and has been coaching football for 37 years, and when you keep winning they just don't fire you. Coach Green also played both college and high school football.
Coach Green confirmed that Tech has been blessed with good students who are also athletes, which makes the team great to work with. Then the coach gave us a run down of this football season so far.
Several of our club members had questions about the possible changes in conference for the University of Montana, as well as possible or rumored changes in the Frontier Conference, which the coach was glad to answer for us - with his opinions.
Remember Kiwanians and Guests of Kiwanians, Coach Green says, "It's bad luck to not have good players."
