Roger announced that our annual Holiday Raffle tickets will be available at next week's meeting so we can get those sold for the drawing in December. This year the drawing is for a $5,000 gift certificate redeemable in minimum $1,000 increments at one of seven local businesses: Harts RV, Redline Sports, Benny's Power Toys, Rebath, Steels Warehouse, Sports Connection, or Miller's Shoe Store.

Dave announced that he has 9 people how have matched his offer, so the club voted to make a tenth, so Dave will be sending a total of $2,000 to the Northwest Burn Center.

Megan from the Circle K was present to announce that tomorrow night is their Member Appreciation social. They are meeting at 5:15 in the Poplar room in the Student Union Building at Tech. Dinner (Subway sandwiches, thanks Gene) and door prizes will be awarded, and those that have paid their Circle K dues, both Kiwanis Sponsors and Circle K members will have extra chances in the drawings.

Then Adam would have introduced our speaker, but he was stuck in... um... traffic. Cattle only move so fast down the highway (welcome to Montana), so he was unable to attend. So, Keith introduced our speaker, Nicole the Assistant Manager of the Copper King Inn.

Nicole is happy to be back in Southwest Montana. She's from Anaconda originally, but spent some time in the navy. She's also happy that the Copper King is open again in Butte.

The Copper King is one of the largest convention facilities in southwest Montana. This coming weekend they are hosting the Acadia Health Care convention, and they recently hosted the AA statewide convention.

They have also recently hosted Michale Winslow to an audience of 300 in their main ballroom, and have the Atomic Comedy Festival coming this weekend.

The hotel has been working on upgrading rooms, but needed to get open quickly to accommodate the National Folk Festival last summer. Like every other hotel in town, they were completely booked months in advance for that weekend.

The hotel has two restaurants: the Colombia Gardens Cafe, which is open for lunch from 11-2, and the Copper King Steak House which is open for dinner from 5-10. There is also a lounge menu available in their lounge from 4-10. A free hot breakfast is available to guests every morning in the Colombia Gardens dining room.

The hotel boasts 148 rooms, including 2 executive suites and 2 bridal suites, plus a pool with jacuzzi, water slide and sauna, a large ballroom, and a convention center that can be split into as many as 5 rooms, each of which is separately wired for PA and can be catered separately.

The Copper King will be having a grand opening November 19-20.
