This week we were joined by prospective member Eric Berg. Gene's son Kenny was with us, getting some quality time with dad before shipping out to boot camp in the Marines on Monday. Matt from the Circle K was also with us.

Betsy gave us a wrap-up report on the Key Leader camp held at the beginning of August this year. There were 43 kids in attendance this year at this leadership camp. The Key Leader program was developed by Kiwanis International in 2005 as a camp experience to teach high school kids leadership skills. The Montana Key Leader program has been described by volunteer counselors and chaperons as a "phenomenal learning experience for any high school student."

Cathy reminded us of the board meeting this Thursday at 5:15 at Metals Bank in uptown Butte. All outgoing, incoming, and continuing board members are encouraged to come. And, of course, all members are invited as well.

Kt let us know that we are starting our Annual Silver Bow Kiwanis Holiday again and handed out ticket packets to the people present. Each packet contains a copy of the rules for you to reference, some tickets, and a list of all the people you have sold to in the past. If you need more tickets, please contact Kt and we'll get them to you. If you didn't get your packet, check in with us and we'll get it to you. If you haven't sold previously we can get you some tickets as well. Remember only 200 tickets are sold, so it is important to sell all of them so we have funds for the next year.

Cathy let us know that we have an opportunity to work at Sam's Haunted House coming up in October.

This week's upcoming K-Family meetings include the Builders' Club meeting at 12:30 Wednesday, the Circle K meeting at 2 on Wednesday, and the Key Club meeting at 12:20 on Thursday. The Key Club meeting time has changed because of an online safety assembly Thursday morning.

Also, the MS Walk is coming up on September 19 at Father Sheehan Park. We need help with setup, teardown, sign-in, and serving lunch. Thanks to several area restaurants, including Subway of Butte, for donating food for the walk.

RuthAnne reminded us of the Out of the Darkness walk for suicide prevention coming up this weekend as part of Suicide Prevention Week.

We are working on scheduling several speakers in the near future including Rod Alne of The Peak, Phil Borup of the YMCA, Pam Cote, Sheriff Ed Lester, and someone from NAHN.
