Today we were joined by Bill Greene, Lt. Gov. for Division 3 from Anaconda for his final visit as Lt. He thanked us for our work for the year. We were also joined by Hoot Gibson, as well as David and Reno from the Circle K.

Cathy reminded us that we will not be meeting next Tuesday. Instead we are having our Installation Dinner next Thursday, October 8, at 6 in the Thornton Building.

We also have a board meeting this Thursday, October 1. This will be the first board meeting under Shawn.

Two weeks from now we will be meeting at The Peak out at the airport. Don't come to Perkins on October 13, just meet at The Peak.

Keith reminded us that Key Club is meeting Thursday in the Butte Central High Library at 11:56. Circle K is meeting Monday in room 104a in the HSB at 5:15. Builders' Club does not meet this week.

We are now up to 5% of our tickets sold for our Raffle. Thanks Dave for bringing in tickets. Remember you can bring in your tickets and payments as soon as you have the tickets sold. Don't wait to the last minute.

Cathy then introduced Hoot Gibson as a new member, and the first Honorary Member of Silver Bow Kiwanis. The board has decided to honor Hoot in recognition of the continued support and service he has shown for the Butte community. Hoot received a standing ovation.

Cathy then introduced a man who needs no introduction at one of our meetings - our own Dave Curry.

Dave talked about how you can travel to places to see landmarks, like the Taj Mahal or the Blue Mosque. In some cases, these attractions or landmarks are grouped together, and you can see several in one trip, others are more isolated and can be a trip unto themselves. On the other hand, sometimes you travel to have experiences, such as seeing wildlife in the Galapagos, or going on Safari in Africa.

People are often concerned about how to pay for travel, but it can be easy to budget for travel if you plan for it and set money aside. In some cases, you can save the additional income from raises or bonuses and use that for travel. Creating planning can help you to afford travel and keep it within budget.

Dave's top ten travel destinations are:
The Great Barrier Reef
Myanmar (Burma)
Ecuador and the Galapagos
and Tanzania

Dave and Eva are planning a trip to Peru in May and will be touring the upper Amazon basin and visiting Machu Picchu.
