Shawn reminded everyone of the Bike Rodeo this weekend, and sent the sign-up sheet around. Remember, if you can make it, set-up starts at 9 and the rodeo starts at 10.

Josh Peck talked about the National Folk Festival and announced (the first public announcement) that there will be a Montana Folk Festival on the second weekend in July next year.

This year's folk festival theme is mining, so the folk festival will be opened with Lloyd Harken blowing the Granite Mountain Mine whistle, which hasn't been blown since the disaster. Festivities open on Friday at the Original. The schedule for the event is being finalized and will be posted on the Folk Festival web site on June 15.

The buses to transport people from Helena, Missoula, and Bozeman for the Folk Festival are already filled, and additional buses are being added to the schedule.

The Folk Festival needs volunteers. A major part of the volunteering they need is a "bucket brigade" - people to go around and get money. Well, Josh says it really isn't about the money (well, it is), but is more about talking to people, making conversation, and making people feel welcome (and getting money). Bucket brigade volunteers get one or two hour shifts.

Volunteers are also needed for "back-stage buddies," food and beverage sales, parking directions, and other tasks. If you're interested, President Tim will have more information.
